Salus Shared Living homes offer supported communal living environments for adults who have a severe and persistent mental illness.
Salus Communal Living homes are designed to provide tenants with a high degree of privacy and independence while enjoying the benefits derived from shared living.
Salus Ottawa Shared Homes are designed to provide tenants with:
- Increased independence
- Enhanced life skills and capabilities
- Success and satisfaction in future environments
SALUS SERVICES PROVIDED
Salus Ottawa provides services based on a psycho social and recovery approach with client choice and voluntary participation as key ingredients. The services include:
- Counseling & Support Services: Illness management, crisis intervention and prevention, conflict resolution, goal setting and planning, linking to community resources, problem solving and decision making.
- Life Skills Teaching: Chore maintenance, cooking, budgeting (groceries, social activities, day to day functioning), proper hygiene and healthy lifestyle habits.
TYPES OF HOMES
Fully furnished, large modern homes featuring private bedrooms and communal areas that include:
- Living room,
- Dining room,
- Kitchen,
- Front and back yards.
CURRENT LOCATIONS
There are currently two Salus Shared Living homes situated in Ottawa Centertown, as well as the neighbourhood of New Edinburgh. All Salus Shared Living homes are located near shopping and public transportation.
