Who We Are
Salus is a community-based organization in Ottawa dedicated to improving the lives of adults living with serious mental illness. Founded more than 45 years ago by parents, social workers, and doctors who recognized the need for better community support, Salus continues to work alongside clients, families, and the community to promote recovery, dignity, and belonging.
Support
What We Do
We offer a range of supportive housing options for adults living with severe mental health conditions, as well as concurrent challenges such as addictions, homelessness, and repeated hospitalizations.
Transformation
Why We Do It
Many adults living with serious mental illness face barriers to stable housing, community connection, and recovery. Without the right supports, people can experience cycles of instability and isolation.
Salus exists to bridge this gap by ensuring individuals have access to safe housing and the community supports they need.
Our Impact
“Every day, we're reminded that people are capable of extraordinary things when they have a place to call home, someone who believes in them, and the opportunity to move forward.”
— Mark MacAulay, President and CEO
