Raising critical funds for supportive housing & integrated mental health services

A spotlight on community, housing and mental-health leadership

Thank you for joining us in making Soirée Salus 2025 our most successful event yet. Held at the official residence of the French Embassy in Ottawa, this year’s Soirée brought together community leaders, partners, and friends in a powerful show of support for mental health and housing in our city.

2025 in Review

Soirée Salus 2025 was an evening to remember — a celebration of community, compassion, and meaningful impact. The funds raised will help more people who are experiencing homelessness and facing complex challenges, including serious mental illness and substance-use health concerns, to find stability, recovery, and a true sense of belonging through permanent housing and personalized supports.

One of the most moving moments of the evening came from Nancy, the mother of a Salus client, who shared her family’s story:

Because of Salus, my daughter has a home — a real home of her own. And since then, she hasn’t needed to be hospitalized. She has friends. She has a community. And that makes one heck of a difference.”

Her words captured what the evening was truly about — the transformative power of home and the ripple effect it creates for families, friends, and our wider community.

Congratulations to our 2025 Award Winners

We were proud to recognize two outstanding contributors whose dedication and leadership continue to strengthen Ottawa’s mental health and housing landscape:

  • Community Champion Award: Eli Tannis — for his deep advocacy, generosity, and unwavering support for those living with mental health and substance-use challenges.

  • Changemaker Award: McDonald Brothers Construction — for their purpose-driven approach to building supportive housing and inspiring collaboration across sectors.

Together, they embody what it means to create lasting change through compassion and commitment.
