Donation Announcement
Ottawa Salus receives record-breaking donation from local philanthropist
Ottawa Salus is thrilled to announce our largest ever individual donation of $516,000 from a local Ottawa philanthropist.
This incredibly generous gift will enable Salus to complete bathroom and kitchen renovations in various buildings to allow our aging clients to remain safely in their homes with their existing support system and community, in addition to implementing a secure key fob system in 12 of our buildings that are currently using physical key entry. The remaining funds will help fund our next build focussed on our aging population and the increasing need for accessibility among our clientele.
We are so grateful to this individual for their continued support of Salus and for believing in our mission to provide supportive housing and mental health services to people living with severe mental illness in our community.
“This is an example of extraordinary generosity and leadership,” says Mark MacAulay, Ottawa Salus Executive Director. “Our donors provide more than just housing. Their compassion helps to provide a better life for someone who is struggling, a future filled with hope and a safe place to call home.”
